Creamy peanut butter porridge

This creamy peanut butter oatmeal porridge is the ultimate power-packed breakfast for when you have a busy day ahead. Ingredients

  • ½ cup oatmeal - around 60g
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 good pinch of cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt - or to taste
  • honey - to taste
  • peanut butter - to taste
  • 1 sliced banana

Instructions

  • Place the oatmeal, milk, water, cinnamon and salt in a saucepan and give it a quick stir to combine.
    ½ cup oatmeal, ½ cup milk, 1 cup water, 1 good pinch of cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Over medium heat, bring the ingredients to a boil and then immediately turn the heat to low.
    For the creamiest porridge, continuously stir with the back of a wooden spoon or a spurtle (if you have one) for approximately 10-12 minutes. Maintain low heat, aiming for a gentle simmer throughout.
  • Once the consistency of the porridge is to your liking, remove it from the heat.
  • Spoon into a serving bowl. Top with peanut butter, honey and a sliced ripe banana. Add a little milk if you wish.

  • For extra crunch, add a sprinkling of chopped peanuts. Enjoy warm.
